Ferndale Woodworks was started by Simon Woodhams in 2006, He left school, knowing the direction he wanted to go.

 

After qualifying as a Carpenter and Joiner he started working for a local carpenter company, gaining experience from the older more experienced guys on the company.

 

He decided to start out on his own, calling his company Ferndale after the name in the stain glass above the front door of his victorian house, from where his love of wood started out,  as small boy in his Grandfather’s shed making model aeroplanes. He moved into that very house in 2001.

 

The first workshop was the size of a double garage, this was working well but after 3 years it was time for a larger workshop to expand his business.

 

Now being situated on the outskirts of Portsmouth, it's the perfect location for the projects across the South and London. Since moving in 2012 he has taken on 3 joiners and more of the  building.

 

Installing a finishing area in 2014 complete with a spray booth, this allows all projects to be finished to a high standard.

 

The next progression was installing a showroom, this allows prospective clients to touch and feel the workmanship, it also works as a great space to discuss your project and gain design ideas.
